PADI Course Director Training Phuket
The PADI Course Director rating is the highest in the PADI system of diver education. When you reach this rating, you are authorized to conduct PADI Instructor Development Courses and start training the next generation of PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructors yourself. To become a PADI Course Director you must apply to PADI for a place on the PADI Course Director Training Course – the CDTC. PADI usually run two CDTC programmes each year – one in Kota Kinabalu, in Borneo, and one in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean.
Our PADI CDTC Prep programme is design to help you work towards applying for a limited place on this prestigious course, and making your application as strong as possible so you can be selected. Before starting this programme you should ideally be a PADI Master Instructor, but need to be a PADI IDC Staff Instructor as a minimum.
PADI Course Director Training – how to become PADI Course Director
Our three-month PADI Course Director Prep Internship is designed to help you tick all the boxes needed to make an application to PADI for a place on the Course Director Training Course – CDTC. The programme includes the following:
- 3 IDC staffing credits
- Business plan workshop
- Dive Against Debris Specialty Instructor training course*
- AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty Instructor training course*
- Conducting Project AWARE Events
- Team Teaching after PADI IDCs
- Dive theory exams coaching
- Letter of recommendation
* PADI fees not included
During your time in Thailand, we will also arrange for you to have a meeting with our local PADI regional Manager who lives here in Phuket. The Regional Manager will be able to discuss your pending application with you and give further advice. We will also help you book a place at one of the Phuket IEs where you can sit the Written Exam portion – you are required to pass these exams with 83% on all five Dive Theory exams and 85% on the Standards Exam before sending your CDTC application to PADI.
